Ignition Control Module Replacement ICM

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 17113  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the 6-way, 3-way and 2-way ignition control module electrical connectors.
  3. Remove the spark plug wires from the ignition coils.

  4. Object Number: 12299  Size: SH
  5. Remove the screws securing the coils to the ignition control module.
  6. Remove the coils from the ignition control module.
  7. Remove the bolts securing the ignition control module to the module bracket.
  8. Remove the ignition control module.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 12299  Size: SH
  1. Install the ignition coils to the ignition control module.
  2. Install the screws securing the coil assemblies to the ignition control module.
  3. Tighten
    Torque the screws to 4-5 N·m (40 lb. in.).

  4. Install the ignition control module to the module mouting bracket.
  5. Install the ignition control module retaining bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Torque the bolts to 10 N·m (90 lb. in.).

  7. Reconnect the 6-way, 3-way and 2-way ignition control module electrical connectors.

Ignition Control Module Replacement Coils

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 12299  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the spark plug wires.
  2. Remove the screws securing the ignition coil(s) to the ignition control module.
  3. Carefully remove the ignition coil(s) from the ignition coil module.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 12299  Size: SH
  1. Install the ignition coil(s) to the Ignition control module.
  2. Install the retaining screws.
  3. Tighten
    Torque the screws to 4-5 N·m (40 lb. in.).

  4. Install the spark plug wires.
