Removal Procedure
Tools Required
J 37096 Flywheel
Holding Tool
- Remove the drive belt. Refer to
Drive Belt Replacement
.
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to General Information.
- Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tires
and Wheels.
- Remove the right engine splash shield. Refer to Drive Axle.
- Remove the flywheel inspection cover.
- Remove the crankshaft balancer bolt using the J 37096
.
- Remove the crankshaft pulley bolts.
- Remove the crankshaft pulley.
Installation Procedure
Tools Required
J 37096 Flywheel
Holding Tool
- Install the crankshaft pulley.
- Install the crankshaft pulley bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the crankshaft balancer bolt using the J 37096
.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 107 N·m (79 lb ft).
- Install the flywheel inspection cover.
- Install the right engine splash shield. Refer to SECTION 4D.
- Install the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to SECTION
3E.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the drive belt. Refer to
Drive Belt Replacement
