Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement Left Side

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to SECTION 6B.
  2. Raise the vehicle. Suitably support the vehicle. Refer to SECTION 0A.

  4. Remove the engine oil filter.
  5. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connection.
  6. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor electrical connection.

  7. Object Number: 57221  Size: SH
  8. Disconnect the left engine oil cooler hose from the oil cooler.
  9. Remove the engine oil cooler retaining bolt. Place the oil cooler aside.
  10. Disconnect the left engine oil cooler hose from the engine block.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 57221  Size: SH
  1. Connect the left engine oil cooler hose to the engine block.
  2. Install the engine oil cooler and the connector.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the connector to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Connect the left engine oil cooler hose to the oil cooler.
  5. Connect the oil pressure sensor electrical connection.
  6. Connect the crankshaft position sensor electrical connection.

  7. Object Number: 57322  Size: SH
  8. Install the oil filter. Lubricate the oil filter seal with engine oil.
  9. Tighten
    Hand tighten the oil filter to 19 N·m (14 lb ft).

  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Refill the cooling system. Refer to SECTION 6B.
  12. Inspect the left engine oil cooler hose for leaks.

Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement Right Side

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to SECTION 6B.

  2. Object Number: 57221  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the engine oil cooler hose from the 3-way connector near the coolant pump.
  4. Raise the vehicle. Suitably support the vehicle. Refer to SECTION 0A.
  5. Disconnect the right engine oil cooler hose from the oil cooler.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 57221  Size: SH
  1. Connect the right engine oil cooler hose to the oil cooler.
  2. Lower the vehicle.
  3. Connect the engine oil cooler hose to the 3-way connector near the coolant pump.
  4. Refill the cooling system.
  5. Inspect the engine oil cooler hoses for leaks.
