1. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .

Important: Be careful not to damage the crankshaft




2. Pry out the seal with a suitable tool such as a large screwdriver.
3. Inspect the crankshaft and front cover for scratches.

Tools Required

J 35354 Front Cover Oil Seal Installer

1. Lubricate the new seal with clean engine oil.
2. Insert the front cover oil seal into the front engine cover. Face the lip of the front cover oil seal toward the engine.
3. Drive the front cover oil seal into place on the front engine cover. Use the J 35354 .
4. Install the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .
