Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the timing belt tensioner actuator pulley. Refer to Timing Belt Tensioner Pulley Removal .

  2. Object Number: 57226  Size: SH
  3. Remove the timing belt tensioner mounting bracket bolts. Do this by aligning the tool to the socket in the bolt head.
  4. Remove the timing belt tensioner mounting bracket.
  5. Inspect the mounting base gasket. Reattach the gasket to the mounting bracket if the gasket is loose.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 57226  Size: SH
  1. Install the timing belt tensioner mounting gasket.
  2. Install the timing belt tensioner mounting bracket.
  3. Install the timing belt tensioner mounting bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the tensioner mounting bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the timing belt tensioner pulley. Refer to Timing Belt Tensioner Pulley Removal .
