Exhaust Manifold Installation Left Side


    Object Number: 57260  Size: SH
  1. If the exhaust manifold is being replaced, transfer the following parts:
  2. 1.1. The heated oxygen sensor.

    Tighten
    Tighten the heated oxygen sensor to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    1.2. The heat shield and studs.
  3. Install the left exhaust manifold gasket.
  4. Install the left exhaust manifold and the heat shield.
  5. Install the left exhaust manifold retaining nuts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 13 N·m (115 lb in).

  7. Connect the Air pipe.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the pipe to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

Exhaust Manifold Installation Right Side

  1. Install the right exhaust manifold gasket.
  2. Install the right exhaust manifold and heat shields.
  3. Install the right exhaust manifold retaining nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 13 N·m (115 lb in).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the AIR pipe.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the pipe to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
