Removal Procedure
- Inspect the washers on the bolts when the following procedures
must be done:
1.1. | Side case cover removal |
- If the washer is inverted, do the following:
2.2. | Install a new washer. |
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to General Vehicle Lifting and Jacking
in General Information.
- Support the vehicle with a suitable stand.
- Position the drain pan under the vehicle.
- Loosen the pan bolts.
- Drain the fluid.
- Remove the pan attaching the bolts.
- Remove the pan.
- Remove the gasket.
Installation Procedure
- Install the pan.
- Install a new gasket.
- Install the attaching bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Drain the pan.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Adjust the fluid level.
