Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner duct.
  2. Disconnect the vacuum line at the modulator.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the transaxle case.
  4. Remove the attaching bolt/screw and the clamp at the modulator base.

  5. Object Number: 99876  Size: SH

    Important: Do not lose the modulator valve from the transaxle case.

  6. Remove the vacuum modulator.
  7. Remove the O-ring

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the new O-ring.

  2. Object Number: 99876  Size: SH
  3. Install the vacuum modulator.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Connect the electrical connector to the transmission case.
  6. Install the vacuum line at the modulator.
  7. Install the air cleaner duct.
