ENGINE OVERHEATING & OR LOSS OF ENGINE COOLANT

SUBJECT: ENGINE OVERHEATING AND/OR LOSS OF ENGINE COOLANT (INSTALL NEW HEATER INLET HOSE AND CLAMPS)

MODELS: 1996 CHEVROLET LUMINA, MONTE CARLO 1996 OLDSMOBILE CUTLASS SUPREME 1996 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX WITH 3.4L ENGINE (VIN X - RPO LQ1)

CONDITION:

SOME OWNERS MAY COMMENT ON AN ENGINE OVERHEATING CONDITION AND/OR LOSS OF ENGINE COOLANT.

CAUSE:

SWELLING OF THE HEATER INLET HOSES MAY RESULT IN DISENGAGEMENT FROM THE HEATER CORE INLET PIPE.

CORRECTION:

INSTALL A NEW HEATER INLET HOSE AND CLAMPS USING THE PROCEDURE IDENTIFIED IN SECTION 1B OF THE SERVICE MANUAL.
