REVISION: 09/16/96 IVS INVL 1 2 3 7
THIS BULLETIN HAS BEEN REVISED TO INCLUDE NEW FUEL INJECTORS, PROGRAMMABLE CALIBRATION AND ARTWORK. PLEASE DISCARD CORPORATE BULLETIN 67-65-21 (SECTION 6E - ENGINE FUEL & EMISSION). ----------------------------------------------------------------------
SOME OWNERS MAY COMMENT THAT THE ENGINE STALLS UNDER A HIGH LOAD AND LOW ENGINE RPM CONDITION TYPICALLY DURING A PARKING LOT MANEUVER. ADDITIONALLY, SOME OWNERS MAY COMMENT ABOUT EXTENDED CRANKING TIME ON A RESTART AFTER A HOT SOAK.
A NEW PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) CALIBRATION HAS BEEN RELEASED TO ADDRESS THE ABOVE CONDITIONS. ALONG WITH REPROGRAMMING THE PCM IT WILL BE NECESSARY TO SECURE THE VACUUM LINES AT THE THROTTLE BODY WITH A TIE STRAP (FIGURES 1 AND 2). AFTER INSTALLING THE TIE STRAPS, CUT OFF THE EXCESS TIE STRAP MATERIAL.
IF, AFTER THE NEW FLASH PROM HAS BEEN INSTALLED AND THE VEHICLE STILL EXHIBITS CRANK TIMES IN EXCESS OF 4 SECONDS AFTER A MINIMUM HOT SOAK OF 45 MINUTES, THEN REPLACE THE FUEL INJECTORS WITH P/N 17113317.
PARTS INFORMATION THE VACUUM HOSE TIE STRAP AND FUEL INJECTORS ARE EXPECTED TO BE AVAILABLE FROM GMSPO ON SEPTEMBER 30, 1996.
