Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 1998 🢒 Lumina 🢒 Restraints 🢒 Seat Belts 🢒 Driver or Passenger Seat Shoulder Belt Guide Adjuster Replacement
  1. Open the upper seat belt guide loop plastic cover.
  2. Remove the upper seat belt guide loop nut.
  3. Remove the center pillar (1) upper trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

    4. Object Number: 178574 Size: SH
  4. Remove the shoulder seat belt guide loop adjuster bolts (2).
  5. Remove the shoulder seat belt guide loop adjuster bracket (3) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Verify that the release lever at the top of the bracket is in the FULL-UP position.

  1. Install the shoulder seat belt guide loop adjuster bracket (3) to the vehicle.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the shoulder seat belt guide loop adjuster bolts (2).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the shoulder seat belt guide loop adjuster bolts to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).

  3. Install the center pillar (1) upper trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  4. Install the upper seat belt guide loop nut.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the upper seat belt guide loop nut to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).

  5. Close the upper seat belt guide loop plastic cover.
