Removal Procedure
- Open the rear compartment lid.
- Place the protective coverings over the adjacent body panels.
- Disconnect all of the electrical connectors to the electrical components attached to the rear compartment lid (3).
- Remove the rear compartment spoiler. Refer to Rear Spoiler Replacement .
- Remove the Compartment lid applique. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Applique Replacement .
- Remove the wiring harness. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Wiring Harness Replacement .
- Remove the bolts (2) from the hinges (1).
- Remove the rear compartment lid (3) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Align the rear compartment lid (3) to the hinges (1).
- Install the bolts (2) to the hinges (1).
- Install the rear compartment spoiler. Refer to Rear Spoiler Replacement .
- Install the Compartment lid applique. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Applique Replacement .
- Install the wiring harness. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Wiring Harness Replacement .
- Remove the protective coverings from the adjacent body panels.
- Close the rear compartment lid.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the lid hinge bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
Important: When you install the new compartment lid, use mechanic wire in order to pull the wire harness through the lid.
