J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the bolts from the upper air baffle at the hood latch cover.



3. Remove the push-in retainer from the lower hood latch cover using J 38778 .

Access the lower push-in retainer from the lower grille opening.




4. Remove the hood latch cover through the lower grille opening.

1. Position the hood latch cover to the hood latch and to the upper air baffle.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.




2. Install the bolts to the upper air baffle at the hood latch cover.

Tighten
Tighten the hood latch cover bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).




3. Install the push-in retainer to the lower hood latch cover.
4. Close the hood.
