Bind in steering gear

1. Inspect for correct rack bearing preload.
2. Inspect for steering gear damage.
3. Adjust the components as necessary. Refer to Steering Gear Replacement
4. Replace the components as necessary. Refer to Steering Gear Replacement

Low fluid

Inspect for internal leaking in the steering components.

Refer to Power Steering Gear and Pump Leaks .

Plastic boot on intermediate shaft is out of position

Inspect the plastic boot on the intermediate shaft. Replace the plastic boot on the intermediate shaft if necessary.

Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.

Intermediate shaft bolt torque too high

Tighten the intermediate shaft bolt to specification.
