Problem

Action

Front wheels out of alignment

  1. Inspect the front wheel alignment.
  2. Perform a front wheel alignment, if necessary. Refer to Preliminary Alignment Inspection in Wheel Alignment.

Rear wheels out of alignment

  1. Inspect the rear wheel alignment.
  2. Perform a rear wheel alignment, if necessary. Refer to Preliminary Alignment Inspection in Wheel Alignment.

Misadjusted rack preload

Tighten the rack preload to specification.

Broken/sagging spring

  1. Inspect the broken/sagging springs.
  2. Replace the broken/sagging springs. Refer to Strut, Strut Component, and Spring Replacement in Front Suspension.

Loose stabilizer shaft

  1. Inspect the following components:
  2. • The mounting bolts
    • The mounting links
  3. Tighten the mounting bolts to specification. Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications in Front Suspension.

Worn struts

  1. Inspect the struts for wear. Replace struts as necessary.
  2. Refer to Strut, Strut Component, and Spring Replacement in Front Suspension.

Uneven/misaligned tires

  1. Service the tires, if necessary.
  2. Replace the tires, if necessary. Refer to Tire Description in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Inspect the alignment. Refer to Preliminary Alignment Inspection in Wheel Alignment.
