Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly - Assemble - Off Vehicle Column Shift

Assembly Procedure

  1. If the turn signal switch assembly was left hanging, skip the next step.

  2. Object Number: 343961  Size: SH

    Important: Use care not to damage the wires when pushing them through the lock housing cover and sleeve assembly.

  3. Install the turn signal switch assembly to the lock housing cover and sleeve assembly following these steps:
  4. 2.1. Push the turn signal switch assembly connector through the lock housing cover and sleeve assembly.
    2.2. Install the turn signal switch assembly connector to the bulkhead connector.
    2.3. Install the turn signal switch assembly into the lock housing cover and sleeve assembly.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the 3 binding head cross recess screws (1) into the turn signal switch assembly (2).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the 3 binding head cross recess screws to 3.5 N·m (31 lb in).

  7. Install the pivot and pulse dimmer switch assembly. Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Assembly - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
  8. Install the turn signal switch lever.
  9. Install the hazard knob.
  10. Install the tilt lever.
