Removal Procedure
- Remove the air cleaner and duct assembly. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
in Engine Controls
- 3.1L.
- Recover the refrigerant. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C refrigerant pressure
sensor.
- Remove the liquid line/suction
line bracket.
- Remove the liquid line
fitting (2) at the condenser.
- Remove the liquid line
fitting (1) at the orifice.
Important: Use care when removing the tube.
- Remove the liquid line.
- Remove and discard the O-rings.
Installation Procedure
Important: The new O-ring seals must be lubricated with mineral base 525 viscosity
refrigerant oil.
- Install new O-ring seals onto the liquid line. Refer to
O-Ring Replacement
.
- Install the liquid line into place.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the liquid
line nut (1) at the orifice.
Tighten
Tighten the liquid line nut to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).
- Install the liquid line
nut (2) at the condenser.
Tighten

- Install the liquid line/suction
line bracket.
- Connect the electrical connector to the A/C refrigerant pressure
sensor.
- Evacuate and charge the system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to
Leak Testing
.
