  1. Inspect the backup lamps for an open or damaged filament.
  2. Inspect the left or right backup lamp connectors for damage or poor connection.

Are the backup lamp bulbs and connectors OK?

Go to Step 2

Go to Step 5

  1. Remove the inoperative backup lamp.
  2. Apply the park brake.
  3. Shift the gear selector lever to the REVERSE position.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  5. Connect a test lamp between inoperative backup lamp connector terminal A and ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 3

Repair the poor connection or an open in circuit 350 between the backup lamp harness connector terminal G and G302.

Has the repair been made?

Go to Backup Lamp System Check

Repair the poor connection or an open in circuit 24 between the backup lamp connector terminal A and S405.

Has the repair been made?

Replace the damaged component.
