Removal Procedure
- Raise the hood.
- Lift the flap on the appropriate end of the radiator upper air
deflector.
- Separate the radiator side air baffle from the upper air deflector.
- Remove the fastener retaining the upper edge of the front bumper
fascia to the headlamp bracket.
- Remove the two bolts retaining the headlamp assembly to the headlamp
bracket.
- Slide the headlamp assembly slightly inboard to release the outboard
retaining tabs.
- Carefully pull the upper edge of the front bumper fascia away
from the inboard edge of the headlamp assembly, just enough to aid in headlamp
removal.
- Carefully remove the headlamp assembly from the headlamp bracket.
- Disconnect the electrical
connectors from the headlamp bulbs.
- Rotate the park/turn signal lamp socket counterclockwise to release
and remove.
- Remove the headlamp assembly.
Installation Procedure
- Position the park/turn
signal lamp socket to the headlamp assembly, then rotate the socket clockwise
to secure.
- Connect the electrical connectors to the headlamp bulbs.
- Carefully pull the upper
edge of the front bumper fascia away from the inboard edge location of the
headlamp assembly, just enough to aid in headlamp installation.
- Carefully position the headlamp assembly to the headlamp bracket
and align the outboard retaining tabs to the slots in the headlamp bracket.
- Slide the headlamp assembly outboard to secure the outboard retaining
tabs.
Leave a 6 mm (0.25 in) gap between the outboard edge of
the headlamp and the fender.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the two
headlamp assembly to headlamp bracket retaining bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the headlamp assembly to headlamp bracket retaining bolts to
3.5 N·m (31 lb in).
- Install the front bumper fascia upper edge to headlamp bracket
fastener.
- Position the radiator side air baffle to the upper air deflector.
- Close and secure the flap on the end of the radiator upper air
deflector.
- Close the hood.
- Check the headlamp aim, if a new headlamp assembly was installed,
or if service or repairs in the front end area may have disturbed the headlamp
mounting brackets.
