- Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
- Disconnect the theft deterrent module.
- Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

- Perform the Lock Cylinder and Harness Test . Refer to
SECURITY Indicator On, Engine Does Not Crank
.
- If you do not find any malfunctions replace the theft deterrent
module.

- Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
- Remove and disconnect the instrument cluster. Refer to AIR Vacuum Source and routing to Front AIR Check Valve - 2000 K/KSP/G
in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console for service
procedures.
- Connect a DMM.
- Measure the resistance between the theft deterrent module harness
connector terminal A5 and the ground.
Is the resistance within the specified range?

within the instrument cluster.
- Repair the components as needed.
