Outer Belt Sealing Strip Replacement Front Door

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the outside rearview mirror if necessary. Refer to Manual Mirror Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 293577  Size: SH
  3. Remove the front door outer belt sealing strip machine screw.
  4. Remove the front door outer belt sealing strip from the flange.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 293577  Size: SH
  1. Press the front door outer belt sealing strip onto the flange.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Important: Align the strip properly to the door inner panel for screw installation.

  3. Install the outer belt sealing strip machine screw.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the outer belt sealing strip screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Install the outside rearview mirror if necessary. Refer to Manual Mirror Replacement .

Outer Belt Sealing Strip Replacement Rear Door

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover


    Object Number: 294811  Size: SH
  1. Open the rear door.
  2. Remove the outer belt sealing strip screw.
  3. Remove the sealing strip by prying up with J 38778 .

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 294811  Size: SH
  1. Press the outer sealing strip into place in the door channel.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the rear door outer belt sealing strip screw.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the door outer belt sealing screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Close the door.
