Some production door hardware attaching screws contain an epoxy threadlocking compound in order to ensure that the original torque setting will be maintained.

Service attaching screws may not contain a threadlocking compound. In order to prevent loosening of service screws or in order to renew threadlocking characteristics of production screws, treat the threads of the fasteners with adhesive/sealant compound GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent. Upon installation and drying, the adhesive cures in order to bond the attachment and to prevent the fastener from backing out. The adhesive bond does not prevent future attachment removal as needed.
