Removal Procedure
  1. Place the window in the full up position.
  2. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 293870 Size: SH
  4. Open the handle clips (1) in order to remove the lock and handle rods (2,3) from the handle.

    5. Caution: Standard shop practices, particularly eye protection, should be followed during these operations to avoid personal injury.

    Important: Support the back side of the rivet while driving the mandrel out to avoid bending the metal.

  5. Use a center punch to remove the rivet mandrel.
  6. Drill out the rivets (6).

    7. Use a 6 mm (1/4 in) drill bit.

  7. Remove the inside door handle (7) from the door.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 293870 Size: SH
  1. Install the inside door handle (7) to the door.

    2. Important: Install the rivet through the hole in the handle first, followed by a rivet through the slot in the handle.

  2. Install the rivets (6).
  3. Install the handle and lock rods (2,3) to the handle.

    4. Secure the rods with clips (1).

  4. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  5. Install the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
