Removal Procedure
- Remove the seat from the
vehicle. Refer to
Seat Replacement
.
- Remove the adjuster from the seat. Remove the four nuts securing
the adjuster to the seat.
- Remove the nut that secures the motor support bracket in order
to gain access to the following components:
• | The cable connector (2) at the motor. |
• | Use a flat-bladed tool to remove the two, dual retainer clips
that attach the drive cables to the vertical gear nuts. |
- Squeeze the oblong connector at any of the following areas and
disconnect the cables.
• | The gear-nuts by the motors. |
• | The adjuster drives (3,13,2,3,4) |
Installation Procedure
- Connect the cables to the drives. Insert the square end of the
drive cables and press in to secure the connectors.
- Install the two dual retainer
clips.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nut
that secures the motor support bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the actuator motor bracket to seat adjuster nut to 10 N·m
(89 lb in).
- Install the adjuster to the seat. Install the four nuts securing
the adjuster to the seat.
Tighten
Tighten the adjuster to seat cushion frame nuts to 25 N·m
(18 lb ft).
- Install the seat in the vehicle. Refer to
