A small amount of fore-and-aft or side-to-side adjustment is possible in the seat adjuster-to-floor pan attaching bolts. You may use this adjustment in order to align the seat or to align the seat adjusters with each other.

This adjustment can correct hard or slow operation. Hard or slow operation may occur if the adjusters are not parallel with each other.

If one adjuster is forward or rearward of the other, move the passenger side of a manually operated seat forward or rearward slightly. This action will engage the seat in the locked position.

You can correct horizontal movement (chucking) when the components are in either of the following positions:

You can correct horizontal movement by tightly adjusting the horizontal actuator and the pinion gear to either lower track rack gear.

1. Move the seat to the following position:

•

Full-up

•	About 3/4 full-forward

2. Loosen the horizontal actuator attaching screws (1).
3. Complete the following actions simultaneously:

•	Use a large screwdriver in order to apply outward pressure on the horizontal actuator.

•	Energize the horizontal switch in order to move the seat slightly fore and aft.

•	This action seats the horizontal actuator pinion gear teeth tightly to the lower track rack pinion teeth. This action also eliminates free play between gear teeth.

4. Maintain the outward pressure against the horizontal actuator and tighten the attaching screws.
