Removal Procedure
  1. Open the rear compartment.

    2. Object Number: 318881 Size: SH
  2. Use a grease pencil in order to make alignment marks to the rear compartment lid for location in installation.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear compartment lid lock release actuator.

    4. Object Number: 318879 Size: SH
  4. Remove the actuator bolts.
  5. Remove the rear compartment lid lock release actuator from the latch.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 318879 Size: SH
  1. Install the rear compartment lid lock release actuator to the latch.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the actuator bolts to the rear compartment lid lock release r to latch.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the actuator bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  3. Connect the electrical connector to the rear compartment lid lock release actuator.
  4. Close the rear compartment.
