Generator Brace Replacement Rear

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 45671  Size: SH
  1. Remove the generator rear brace stud from the generator.
  2. Remove the generator rear brace nut from the engine stud on the engine intake manifold.
  3. Remove the generator rear brace.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 45671  Size: SH
  1. Install the generator rear brace to the generator and to the engine stud on the intake manifold.
  2. Finger tighten the generator rear brace stud to the generator.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the generator rear brace nut to the engine stud on the engine intake manifold.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the generator rear brace nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  6. Tighten the generator rear brace stud.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the generator rear brace stud to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

Generator Brace Replacement Front

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 45671  Size: SH
  1. Remove the generator front brace nut at the engine intake manifold.
  2. Remove the generator bolt.
  3. Remove the generator front brace assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 45671  Size: SH
  1. Position the generator front brace assembly to the generator and the engine stud on the engine intake manifold.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the generator bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the generator bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the generator front brace nut at the engine intake manifold.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the generator front brace nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
