Incorrect trim heights can produce symptoms similar to wheel misalignment. Check the trim heights whenever diagnosing steering and vibration concerns. Refer to Trim Height Specifications .

Observe the following conditions to accurately measure the trim height:

    • Ensure the tires are inflated to the correct pressure. Refer to Tire Inflation Pressure Specifications in General Information.
    • Ensure the fuel tank is full.
    • Ensure the coolant is full to capacity.
    • Ensure the vehicle has no additional weight or passengers.
    • Position the front seat in the rearward position.
    • Empty the rear compartment, except for the spare tire and the jack (and a simulated fuel load, if required).
    • Position the vehicle on a known level floor.
    • Close all the doors, the hood, and the rear compartment lid.
