MOAN/GROWL/VIBRATION WITH A/C ON (INSTALL NEW ENG. BRACKET)

SUBJECT: MOAN/GROWL OR VIBRATION WITH AIR CONDITIONING ON

MODEL and YEAR: 1992-93 LUMINA APV WITH 3.8L (L27) ENGINE

CONDITION:

--------- Some U-Vans with a 3800 engine (VIN code L) may exhibit a moan, growl or vibration with the air conditioning on.

CAUSE:

----- May be caused by system vibrations.

CORRECTION:

---------- This condition may be improved by using the following service parts and procedure:

1. Raise the vehicle on the hoist.

2. Remove the R.H. wheel and tire assembly.

3. Install the engine mount bracket to the existing hole in the engine mount. Torque to 50 N.m (37 lb. ft.). See illustration.

4. Attach the engine mount bracket to threaded boss in the transmission case. Torque to 50 N.m (37 lb. ft.).

5. Replace wheel and tire assembly

Parts are currently available from GMSPO.
