INTERMITTENT ELECT. CONDITIONS (TIGHTEN LOOSE GROUND G105)

SUBJECT: INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL CONDITIONS (TIGHTEN LOOSE GROUND NUT G105)

MODELS: 1992-95 CHEVROLET LUMINA APV 1992-95 OLDSMOBILE SILHOUETTE 1992-95 PONTIAC TRANS SPORT BUILT WITH 3800 ENGINE (VIN L - RPO L27)

CONDITION:

ONE OR MORE INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL CONDITIONS MAY EXIST ON THE ABOVE LISTED VEHICLES. SOME OF THESE CONDITIONS MAY BE: DRIVEABILITY, ERRATIC SPEEDOMETER, CRUISE CONTROL, OR INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION.

CAUSE:

THE NUT SECURING THE GROUND WIRES AT THE G105 STUD MAY BE LOOSE. THE CIRCUIT IS SHOWN ON PAGE 8A-14-3 (1992-93), PAGE 8A-14-1 (1994) AND PAGE 8A-14-2 (1995) OF THE SERVICE MANUAL. THE STUD IS LOCATED UNDER THE FRONT COIL OF THE DIS COIL PACK, ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ENGINE, JUST BEHIND THE SERPENTINE DRIVE BELT (SEE FIGURE 1).

CORRECTION:

TIGHTEN THE NUT TO 17 N.M (12 FT LB) TORQUE. RECHECK FOR PROPER OPERATION OF THE AFFECTED CIRCUITS.
