Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to General Information.

  2. Object Number: 73507  Size: SH
  3. Remove the tailpipe hanger from the pipe.
  4. Remove the front exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold bolts and springs.

  5. Object Number: 73508  Size: SH
  6. Remove the muffler hanger to insulator and the retainer.
  7. Support the exhaust system.

  8. Object Number: 73505  Size: SH
  9. Remove the converter flange bolts to hanger.
  10. Remove the supports from the exhaust system and exhaust system from vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Support the vehicle and position the exhaust system.

  2. Object Number: 73505  Size: SH
  3. Install the converter flange to hanger bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the muffler hanger to the insulator and the retainer.

  6. Object Number: 73507  Size: SH
  7. Install the tailpipe hanger onto the pipe.
  8. Install the retaining bolts and springs and the front exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  10. Lower the vehicle.
