Notice: Adjust the shift control cable only while the transaxle and the gear
selector are in NEUTRAL. Failure to do so may cause mis-adjustment.
- Set parking brake and choke wheels.
- Remove the shift cable terminal at the
manual shaft lever pin with an appropriate tool.
- Do not pry or pull up on any other part of the shift cable.
- Prying or pulling up on the shift cable could result in damage.
- Fully lift adjuster lock bottom. Ensure the adjuster is free to
move.
- Place the transaxle manual shaft lever in NEUTRAL gear.
- Rotate the transaxle manual shaft lever fully counter-clockwise
to PARK and then rotate the lever two clicks into NEUTRAL.
- Place the gear shifter (Inside vehicle) in the NEUTRAL position.
• | Rotate the shift lever to LOW 1 position. Push forward on the
lever and in unison and pull the shift lever up slowly. The gear shaft lever
will move while clicking over the gear during travel stops. When the lever
stops completely, the gear shaft lever should be in NEUTRAL. Release the lever. |
- Grasp the shift cable terminal and pull it toward the pin on the
manual shaft lever under the hood. Attach the pin to the lever by carefully
pushing down until the pin snaps. Do not pull the terminal beyond the pin
then push back -- this could move the shifter out of NEUTRAL.
- Press the adjuster lock button down with
the adjuster body.
- Shift to PARK.
- Release the parking brake while applying the service brake. Start
the engine and assure all indicated gear positions match vehicle response.
