Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the accelerator from the upper bracket. Refer to Accelerator Controls in Engine Controls.
  2. Remove the cruise cable from the upper bracket. Refer to Accelerator Controls in Engine Controls.
  3. Remove the nut at the upper bracket to EGR mounting stud.
  4. Raise the vehicle with the appropriate support. Refer to General Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.

  5. Object Number: 99225  Size: SH
  6. Remove the bolt at the lower bracket to the transaxle.
  7. Remove the transaxle filler tube.
  8. Remove the seal.

Installation Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to General Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.
  2. Install the new seal into the transaxle.
  3. Install the tube into the transaxle using care to avoid the seal damage and align the upper bracket with the EGR mounting stud
  4. Install the lower bolt/screw through the bracket into the transaxle.
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Install the upper bracket to the EGR mounting stud.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to the 13 N·m (115 lbN·min).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to the General Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.
  9. Install the lower bracket bolt/screw.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt/screw to 13 N·m (115 lbN·min).

  11. Lower the vehicle
  12. Install the accelerator to the upper bracket. Refer to Accelerator Controls in Engine Controls.
  13. Install the cruise cables to the upper bracket. Refer to Accelerator Controls in Engine Controls.
  14. Adjust the fluid level.
