Subject: | SPS Programming Failure |
Models: | 2007-2009 Chevrolet Caprice, Lumina (Middle East Export) |
Built Prior to 16/05/08 |
When attempting to perform Service Programming (SPS) of any VE or WM series vehicle, the programming may fail.
This may be due to the sensing diagnostic module (SDM) failing to enter the programming mode and, therefore, may prevent successful programming of any module.
Revised software was introduced into production following the build date of 16/05/08 (VIN TBD).
For vehicles built prior to 16/05/08:
Whenever performing SPS programming of any VE or WM series vehicle, remove the SIR fuse F1 (SDM) from the instrument panel fuse box, located in the passenger front kick panel. After programming has been successfully completed, re-install the SIR fuse F1.
Vehicles built on or after 16/05/08:
Removal of the SIR fuse is no longer required.
