Removal Procedure

    Important:  When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

  1. Support the endgate with a suitable brace.

    2. Object Number: 2008007 Size: SH
  2. Drill a 5mm hole into the top surface of each of the endgate rail cover blanking plugs (1).

    3. Important: The endgate rail cover blanking plugs (1) must be discarded after removal.

  3. Using a suitable tool, prise the endgate rail cover blanking plugs (1) from the endgate rail cover (2).

    4. Discard the plugs.

  4. Remove the endgate to endgate rail cover retaining bolts (2).
  5. Remove the endgate rail cover (1) from the endgate (3).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 2008006 Size: SH
  1. Install the endgtate rail cover (1) to the endgate (3).

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the endgate rail cover to endgate retaining bolts (2).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  3. Install the NEW endgate rail cover blanking plugs (1) to the endgate rail cover (2).
  4. Remove the support from the endgate.
