Condition
Customers may comment that the brake lights stay on, the cruise control may be inoperative and an "ESP Off" warning may be displayed at times.
Technicians may find C0161 stored in the BCM as either "present" or "not present".
This condition may be intermittent.
Cause
Some vehicles built since March 2007 may not have the brake pedal position correctly programmed.
Correction
If presented with a vehicle built between March 2007 and 13/03/2008 which is exhibiting any of these concerns, perform a "brake pedal position sensor learn" with a Tech 2® as described below.
