Diagnostic Fault Information
Perform the
Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle
prior to using this diagnostic procedure.
Circuit/System Description
The power window/mirror switch supplies power when requested to the relative
power window and also controls the rear power window lock/unlock function. The power
window/power mirror switch power supply is controlled by the RAP (retained accessory
power) relay. RAP is delivered via the 2A RAP control fuse and the 20A power windows
circuit breaker, ground is supplied via ground point G305.

Circuit/System Verification
- Verify that the Retained Accessory Power (RAP) circuit is functioning
normally.
Circuit/System Testing
- Disconnect the power window/mirror switch harness connector.
- Verify less than 1 ohm of resistance from the ground circuit terminal
and ground.
⇒ | If the resistance is greater than the specified value, repair the ground circuit
for an open/high resistance. |
- Ignition ON, test for 12 volts between the RAP fuse supply voltage circuit
terminal X1-10 and ground.
⇒ | If the voltage is not between 9-16 volts, repair the RAP fuse supply voltage
circuit for an open/high resistance. |
- Ignition OFF, connect the power window/mirror switch harness connector.
- Ignition ON, rear window lock-out not selected, verify that at least one
of the rear windows operates correctly.
- If all circuits test normal and the rear windows remain inoperative, replace
the power window/mirror switch.
