Diagnostic Fault Information
Perform the
Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle
prior
to using this diagnostic procedure.
Circuit/System Description
The power window/mirror switch and rear window switch control the up/down operation
of the rear power windows when requested. The power window/mirror switch power supply
is controlled by the RAP (retained accessory power) relay.

Circuit/System Verification
- Verify that the Retained Accessory Power (RAP) circuit is functioning
normally.
- Verify that the opposite rear window is working from its rear power window
switch.
Power Window Switch Testing
- Make sure that the window lock-out button on the power window/mirror switch
is not selected.
- Ignition Off, disconnect the power window switch harness connector.
- Verify less than 1 ohm of resistance from the ground circuit terminal
2 and ground.
⇒ | If the resistance is greater than the specified value, repair the ground circuit
for an open/high resistance. |
- Ignition ON, test for 12 volts between the supply voltage circuit terminal
4 and ground.
⇒ | If the voltage is not between 9-16 volts, repair the supply voltage circuit
for an open/high resistance. |
- Connect a fused jumper wire between supply voltage circuit 4 and signal
terminal 5.
- Connect a fused jumper wire between supply ground circuit 2 and terminal
1, ignition On.
⇒ | If the window opens replace the power window switch. |
- Test the power/ground supply circuits from the rear power window switch
to the window motor for a short to ground, short to voltage or an open/high resistance.
⇒ | If all circuits test normal, replace the window motor. |
