Interior Trim Panel Retention (Export)

Complaints have been received of various interior trim panels poorly retained by existing push-in clips following exposure to high temperatures.

Clip P/N 92138842 (white) which is used in several locations to retain interior trim loses retention especially following exposure to high temperatures.

Vehicle Production

Revised clip, P/N 92139070 (orange color) has been released into production progressively from September 1, 2007. Effectiveness of the new clip is improved from the previous white clip; however, further improvement is being pursued to provide a more positive retention.

Vehicles in Service

Do not replace the trim clip, either white or orange. Cover the existing clip with a layer of "Cambrell" tape as shown below. Tape is available from HSPO as P/N 92145740 in an 11m length roll.

Parts Data

Use P/N 92145740, Cambrell Tape. Each 11m roll contains sufficient material for rework of up to 330 clips.

Warranty Claim Data

Use existing warranty claim labor operation and standard time for remove and reinstallation of the affected panel.
