Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2009 🢒 Lumina VE 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, or 7.0L 🢒 Engine Block Assemble

    Object Number: 1950924 Size: SH

    Important: Make sure the locating sleeves (2) are correctly installed to the maximum height (A) of 8.3 mm (0.33 in).

  1. Install the locating sleeves (2) into the cylinder block  (1).
  2. Apply a 3.175 mm (0.125 in) bead of sealant to the engine block coolant drain hole plug sealing washer.

  3. Install the engine block coolant drain hole plug.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the plug to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).

  4. Apply a 3.175 mm (0.125 in) bead of sealant to the engine block left front oil gallery plug sealing washer (1).
  5. Install the engine block left front oil gallery plug (1).

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the plug to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).

  6. Apply a 3.175 mm (0.125 in) bead of sealant to the engine block left rear oil gallery plug sealing washer (2).
  7. Install the engine block left rear oil gallery plug (2).

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the plug to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).

  8. Apply a 3.175 mm (0.125 in) bead of sealant to the coolant drain hole plug (3).
  9. Install the coolant drain hole plug (3).

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the plug to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).

  10. Inspect the engine block rear oil gallery plug and O-ring seal. If the O-ring seal on the plug is not cut or damaged, the rear oil gallery plug may be used again.
  11. Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
  12. Install the O-ring seal onto the plug.
  13. Install the engine block rear oil gallery plug into the oil gallery bore. A correctly installed block plug will protrude 0.8-1.4 mm (0.0315-0.055 in) (A) beyond the rear face of the block.

    14. Object Number: 1950977 Size: SH
  14. Apply threadlock to the sides of the NEW front oil gallery plug (1).
  15. Install a NEW engine block front oil gallery plug (1). Install the engine block front oil gallery plug (1) into the oil gallery bore 2.2-2.8 mm (0.0086-0.011 in) below flush.

    16. Object Number: 1950978 Size: SH
  16. Install the knock sensors (2).
  17. Install the knock sensor to cylinder block retaining bolts (1).

    18. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
