Removal Procedure

    Important: When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

  1. Install a suitable liftgate brace to the vehicle.
  2. Remove the rear end trim finish panel. Refer to Rear End Trim Finish Panel Replacement.

    3. Object Number: 2047106 Size: SH
  3. Using a wax pencil, mark the position of the liftgate latch striker to the body.
  4. Remove the liftgate latch striker to body retaining bolts (1).
  5. Remove the liftgate latch striker (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 2047106 Size: SH

    Important: When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

  1. Position the liftgate latch striker (2) to the body as marked on removal.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the liftgate latch striker to body retaining bolts (1).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  3. Check the operation of liftgate latch striker, adjust if necessary.
  4. Install the rear end trim finish panel. Refer to Rear End Trim Finish Panel Replacement.
  5. Remove the suitable liftgate brace from the vehicle.
