Rear Bumper Impact Bar Replacement Sedan

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.

  3. Object Number: 1937482  Size: SH
  4. Remove the rear bumper impact bar to rear bumper impact bar bracket retaining nuts (2).
  5. Remove the rear bumper impact bar (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1937482  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear bumper impact bar (1) to the rear impact bar brackets.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the rear bumper impact bar to rear bumper impact bar bracket retaining nuts (2).
  4. 2.1. Install the upper retaining nuts first.
    2.2. Install the lower retaining nuts second.

    Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

  5. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.
  6. Lower the vehicle.

Rear Bumper Impact Bar Replacement Sportwagon

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.

  3. Object Number: 2049403  Size: SH
  4. Remove the rear bumper impact bar (2) to rear bumper impact bar bracket retaining nuts (1).
  5. Remove the rear bumper impact bar (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 2049403  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear bumper impact bar (2) to the rear impact bar brackets.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

    Important: Install the upper rear bumper impact bar to rear bumper impact bar bracket retaining studs first.

  3. Install the rear bumper impact bar to rear bumper impact bar bracket retaining nuts (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

  5. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
