DTC B1001 Option Configuration Error for Chevrolet Malibu 1998
Conditions for Setting the DTC
If the Vehicle Option Configuration is not set when the body control module (BCM) is programmed.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
| • | The DTC B1001 is stored in the BCM memory. |
| • | The SERVICE VEHICLE SOON indicator lamp is Illuminated. |
Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC
| • | The BCM goes to sleep and reinitializes with the fault cleared. |
| • | The BCM history codes will be cleared after 100 ignition cycles (from OFF to RUN) with no current codes active during the 100 ignition cycles. |
| • | Use the Scan Tool . |
Diagnostic Aids
Use a Scan Tool in order to check the body control module (BCM) configuration. The Scan Tool should read an invalid configuration or none exists.
