Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe Replacement 3.1L

Removal Procedure

    Notice: When adding coolant, use DEX-COOL® coolant. If silicated coolant is added to the system, premature engine, heater core or radiator corrosion may result. In addition, the engine coolant will require change sooner-at 50 000 km (30,000 mi) or 24 months.

  1. Partially drain and recover the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  2. Object Number: 25883  Size: SH
  3. Remove the coolant air bleed pipe retaining bolt from the cylinder block and the retaining nut from the exhaust manifold stud.

  4. Object Number: 25885  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the surge tank inlet hose and clamp from the surge tank hose.

  6. Object Number: 27409  Size: SH
  7. Remove the air bleed pipe from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 27409  Size: SH
  1. Install the air bleed pipe to the coolant outlet housing.

  2. Object Number: 25885  Size: SH
  3. Connect the surge tank inlet hose and clamp to the tank hose.

  4. Object Number: 25883  Size: SH
  5. Install the air bleed pipe and the retaining bolt and nut .
  6. Refill the cooling system. Refer to Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling
