Draining Procedure
Caution: Never drain or store fuel in an open container. Always use an approved
fuel storage container in order to reduce the chance of fire or explosion.
Caution: Place a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby before performing
any on-vehicle service procedures. Failure to follow these precautions
may result in personal injury.
- Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to
Fuel Pressure Relief

- Raise the vehicle.
- Disconnect the fuel return pipe quick connect fitting. Refer to
Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
.
- Use a hand operated pump device to drain as much fuel through
the fuel return pipe as possible.
- Reconnect the fuel return pipe quick connect fitting. Refer to
Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Lower the vehicle.
