Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 451128  Size: SH
  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Important: Clean dirt, grease, and other foreign material from the hose fittings at both ends of the brake hose before servicing brake components.

  3. Disconnect the front brake pipe (1) from the brake hose (2).
  4. Remove the retaining clip (3) from the front brake hose (2).

  6. Remove the front brake caliper retaining bolt (1) from the front brake hose (3).
  7. Remove the front brake hose gaskets (2).
  8. Remove the front brake hose (3) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 451132  Size: SH
  1. Install the new brake hose gaskets (2) to the front brake hose (3).
  2. Install the front brake hose (3) to the front brake caliper.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the front brake caliper retaining bolt (1) to the front brake caliper.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the retaining bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  6. Install the retaining clip (3) to the front brake hose (2).
  7. Important: Make sure the brake hose is not twisted. Make sure the brake hose is not in contact with any suspension components.

  8. Connect the front brake pipe (1) to the front brake hose (2).
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the front brake pipe to 7 N·m (20 lb ft).

  10. Bleed the brake hydraulic system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
  11. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
