Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 175182  Size: SH
  1. Remove the master cylinder. Refer to Master Cylinder Replacement .
  2. Notice: Do not clamp on master cylinder body. Doing so may damage the master cylinder.

  3. Clamp the flange of the master cylinder body in a vise.

  4. Object Number: 175186  Size: SH
  5. Remove the spring pins (2) by using a suitable 1/8 inch punch (4) in order to drive them out.
  6. Do not damage the reservoir (1) or the cylinder body (3) when driving out the spring pins.

  7. Remove the master cylinder reservoir by pulling straight up and away from the master cylinder body.

  8. Object Number: 481544  Size: MH
  9. Remove the reservoir to body O-rings (4) from grooves in the master cylinder reservoir (3).
  10. Dispose of the O-rings (4).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 481544  Size: MH
  1. Lubricate the new reservoir to body O-rings (4) and the reservoir flanges with clean brake fluid.
  2. Install the reservoir to body O-rings (4) into the grooves in the master cylinder reservoir (3).
  3. Ensure that the O-rings are properly seated.

  4. Install the master cylinder reservoir (3) to the master cylinder body (2) by pressing straight down.

  5. Object Number: 175186  Size: SH
  6. Install the spring pins (2) by driving in with a 1/8 inch punch (4). Do not damage the reservoir (1) or the master cylinder body (3).

  7. Object Number: 175182  Size: SH
  8. Install the master cylinder. Refer to Master Cylinder Replacement .
  9. Fill the master cylinder to the proper level using clean brake fluid. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling .
  10. Bleed the hydraulic system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
