Conditions for Setting the DTC
If the vehicle option configuration is not set when the body control module (BCM) is programmed.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
| • | The DTC B1001 is stored in the BCM memory. |
| • | The SERVICE VEHICLE SOON indicator lamp is Illuminated. |
Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC
| • | The BCM goes to sleep and reinitializes with the fault cleared. |
| • | The BCM history codes will be cleared after 100 ignition cycles (from OFF to RUN) with no current codes active during the 100 ignition cycles. |
| • | Use the Scan Tool. |
Diagnostic Aids
Use a scan tool in order to check the BCM configuration. The scan tool should read an invalid configuration or none exists.
