Was the Instrument Cluster Diagnostic System Check performed?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Disconnect the seat belt switch connector.

Did the fasten belts chime stop?

--

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

Replace the seat belt switch. Refer to Seat Belt Side Buckle Replacement - Driver in Seat Belts.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster

  1. Back out CKT 238 terminal B12 of right IP wiring harness junction block connector C3. Refer to Relay/Fuse Center Replacement in Wiring Systems.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Did the fasten belts chime stop?

--

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Repair the short to ground in CKT 238 between terminal A of the seat belt switch connector and terminal B12 of right IP wiring harness junction block connector C3.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster

  1. Back out CKT 238 terminal B1 of the right IP wiring harness junction block connector C2. Refer to Relay/Fuse Center Replacement in Wiring Systems.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Did the fasten belts chime stop?

--

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 8

Replace the right IP wiring harness junction block. Refer to Relay/Fuse Center Replacement in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

--

  1. Disconnect the sensing diagnostic module (SDM) connector. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module Replacement in SIR.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Did the fasten belts chime stop?

--

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 10

Replace the SDM. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module Replacement in SIR.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Back out terminal B11 of the body control module (BCM) connector C2. Refer to the following procedures:
  2. •  Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control Systems.
  3. Use the J 39200 DMM in order to measure the resistance in CKT 238 between BCM connector C2 and ground.

Does the resistance measure within the specified range?

Infinite

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 12

Replace the BCM.

Refer to the following procedures:

    •  Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System
    •  Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System

Repair the short to ground in CKT 238 between terminal B1 of the right IP wiring harness junction block connector C2 and terminal 8 of the SDM connector. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?
