Important: DO NOT attempt repairs of the lock assembly.

1. Remove the rear door inside handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Inside Handle Replacement .



2. Remove the rear door locking rod (4).
3. Remove the rear door inside handle rod (2).

1. Pull on the inside lock handle lever until the lock assembly is in the full open position.
2. Push the lock switch teeth fully towards the actuating arm in order for the teeth to mesh correctly with the teeth on the lock assembly when installed.
3. Verify that the actuating arm rubber bumper is on the actuating arm.
4. Install the actuating arm and bumper into the locking lever.
5. Align the lock switch teeth to the gear tooth forkbolt.
6. Manually operate the lock assembly by pushing inward on the fork bolt until the bolt clicks into the fully closed position. Ensure that the lock operates to the fully closed position without any interference.



7. Install the rear door inside handle rod (2) to the rear door lock (1).
8. Install the rear door locking rod (4) to the rear door lock.
9. Test the operation of the actuator and door lock switch.
10. Install the rear door inside handle. Refer to Rear Side Door Inside Handle Replacement .
